Opening: Ingela Ihrman
– Frutti di Mare

Frutti di Mare is the largest presentation to date of the internationally recognized Swedish artist Ingela Ihrman. With a disarming sense of playfulness, Ingela Ihrman’s work deals with the conditions of human existence. Welcome to the opening of Malmö Konsthall’s big autumn exhibition on September 29 at 19.

For Ingela Ihrman, social relations, scientific facts and personal experiences function as starting points for artistic exploration. The works in the exhibition refer to modern society and humankind’s complicated relationship with itself and other living beings. Through sculptural costumes and performances, Ihrman explores the possibilities and limitations of the self, embracing in the exhibition Frutti di Mare the story of how the first life on earth once emerged from the depths of the sea.

19:30 Welcoming speech and introduction to the exhibition by Mats Stjernstedt, director of Malmö Konsthall. Presentation of the evening’s co-hosts, Tillsammans i Förening (Together in association). The performative work Juicebaren (The Juice Bar) starts.
