Malmö Konsthall commemorates International Women’s Day in solidarity with women worldwide, alongside PEN Malmö, ABF Malmö, Feminist Dialog, and Feminists4Jina. On two Sundays, March 3rd and 10th, we gather to highlight women in some of the world’s conflict areas, with a special focus this year on Gaza. We do it in the spirit of culture with music, readings, dance, and conversations. On Sunday, March 3rd, we collectively write on the konsthall’s windows facing Magistratsparken.

The audience is invited to write texts by female authors and cultural creators from various parts of the world living under oppression or in war. The event is a continuation of the installation at the Panora cinema in 2023, when the windows were filled with texts by imprisoned women in Iran. In addition to the organizers, artist Leif Holmstrand, featured in the ongoing exhibition, and Chinese artists and activists Shi Tou and Mingming, who are visiting Malmö, will also participate. The activity takes place during the art hall’s opening hours from 11 to 17.
