Program Day: Echoing the Voices of Women – Woman, LIFE, Freedom

A dark-haired woman sits in front of a window, writing greetings from imprisoned women around the world on the window.
Ahead of International Women’s Day, we’re creating an installation where we amplify the voices of women living in war and oppression.

Program Day: Echoing the Voices of Women – Woman, LIFE, Freedom

at

Malmö Konsthall commemorates International Women’s Day in solidarity with women worldwide, alongside PEN Malmö, ABF Malmö, Feminist Dialog, and Feminists4Jina. On two Sundays, March 3rd and 10th, we gather to highlight women in some of the world’s conflict areas, with a special focus this year on Gaza. On March 10th, there will be a day filled with music, readings, dance, and discussions.

On Sunday, March 10th, we offer a packed program in C-salen. We gather to listen to and share women’s voices, reminding ourselves to never cease listening or engaging against the injustices of the world. The program’s music and dance are composed/created for this occasion. Among others, Johanna Knutsson – one of the most beloved music creators in electronic music in the Nordic region – has specially composed a musical piece for Malmö Konsthall, drawing inspiration from the testimonies of Iranian women from Evin Prison.
