Public art commission in Limhamn

In 2023, Limhamn was adorned with art and colour. Under the guidance of artist Jamila Drott, artists from LSS created new public artworks, inaugurated in November 2023.

During the Spring 2023, the group met regularly for study visits and creative workshops, planning for the public artworks that would be installed in the autumn. In 2023, the public art project had extra relevance as it coincided with the Year of Architecture in Malmö, titled “What Do We Have In Common”. It was an extension of Copenhagen’s nomination as the World Capital of Architecture in 2023.

The project is a collaboration between MKB Fastighets Ab, the Functional Support Department of the City of Malmö, and Plantan, the Malmö Beautification and Planting Association. The artists from LSS participating in 2023 were Louise Bertilsson, Kristian dos Santos Gonçalves, Nelly Escalante, Anna Jönsson, Erik Löhnn, and Katharina Tuunanen.
