On November 15, the Day of the Imprisoned Writer is observed to draw attention to the situation of writers who are imprisoned. It is a day that underscores the importance of defending freedom of expression and protesting against those who suppress it.
In collaboration with PEN Skåne, the art hall invites you to “The Free Word in the Time of Silence”, held in solidarity with the Day of Imprisoned Writers. During the afternoon, PEN Skåne’s members will share a text, poem, or visual artwork by an imprisoned writer, or present their own piece related to the theme “prison.” The visual artist and new guest artist in Malmö, Mohammed Brjass, will be joining with a live visual performance.
