Hakawati tour with Said Hamrit

Hakawati tour with Said Hamrit
at –
Inspired by Bouchra Khalili’s themes of migration, identity, and life stories, Malmö Konsthall and the Swedish-Algerian Association invite you to a Hakawati tour with Said Hamrit.
Hakawati is an oral storytelling tradition with roots in the Middle East and North Africa, where personal experiences and life stories are central. The tour is in Swedish and replaces the regular public tour.
Said Hamrit tells his life story – from growing up in Algeria and dreaming of university studies in Europe, to years of uncertainty as an undocumented person in several countries.
Today, Said works as a manager at a Swedish government agency. During the tour, he shares the journey that brought him from Algeria to Malmö, the challenges he has faced along the way, and how he reached where he is today.
The workshop is organised in collaboration with ABF Malmö.
