Accompanying the exhibition Lenke Rothman – Life as Cloth (21 September 2024–19 January 2025) at Malmö Konsthall, a programme of three short films will be featured. The films explore themes from Rothman’s life and work, addressing displacement, survival, and memory. They will be shown in a loop.
Silence combines animation and archival footage to tell the story of Tana Ross, a child survivor of Theresienstadt. Lahza, a documentary about Malmö artist Jafer Taoun, intertwines his artistic practice with his refugee camp experience in Saudi Arabia, and They Came in Crowded Boats and Trains depicts the struggles of refugees from Finland and Iraq in a documentary fiction film. Read more about the films here.
The event is part of Nordisk Panorama Film Festival that shows the best documentaries and short films of the Nordics. You can also listen to talks, attend parties and meet filmmakers. More information at Nordisk Panorama.
