Nairy Baghramian is an internationally acclaimed artist. In 2024 she was awarded honorary doctoral at The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts, Lund University. During the fall of 2025 Malmö Art Academy celebrate their 30-year anniversary. As part of their celebration Nairy Baghramian has been invited to Malmö Konsthall for a Public Talk November 4th about her artistic work and upcoming exhibition nameless in WIELS, Brussels (25 October–1 March).

Nairy Baghramian was born in Isfahan and was forced to flee Iran as a teenager after the revolution. Since 1984, she has lived and worked in Berlin. Her artistic practice spans sculpture, installation, photography, and drawing, characterized by fearless experimentation, historical acuity, and conceptual rigor. Particularly within her primary medium of sculpture, the artist employs a wide range of techniques, materials, and forms to explore the spatial, architectural, social, political, and contextual conditions of contemporary art. Through her innovative use of materials and her ability to reconfigure familiar forms, Baghramian invites viewers to reconsider their sense of self, space, object, and site.
