Studio Syd is a new project by Malmö Konsthall funded by the Swedish Inheritance Fund, serving as both a studio and gallery for artists with non-normative abilities. Studio Syd will be open during the Gallery Weekend opening hours: Friday 6–11 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 1–5 pm.
Portrait of a stranger
Get to Know Each Other Through Art is an artistic collaboration between Ateljé Inuti in Stockholm and Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, USA. The collaboration began with the artists sending images and texts to one another, and from that, portraits were created. The result is artworks that transcend geographical boundaries, where two various artistic expressions meet. Each portrait tells a story – not only about the person depicted, but also about the artist’s gaze, empathy, and sense of connection.
Inuti, founded in 1996 in Stockholm, runs three daily programs for artists with norm-breaking functionality, as well as a gallery and have a large art collection. Creative Growth, founded in 1974, is the world’s oldest and largest supported art studio with over 140 artists.
