Visit by KRUT: Conversation about civic courage with the activist and poet Timimie Märak
KRUT has invited activist and poet Timimie Märak to a conversation about civic courage with Samuel Girma from KRUT. What does civic courage mean to you? What does the concept encompass? What does it mean to act and think with care for those around you?
The conversation is open for all visitors to join.
Make patches using printmaking together with young artists
The three young artists Tira Preis, Lykke Leino, and Kasper Johansson will teach you how to make your own linocut print, which you can then use to print patches.
There will also be a large piece of fabric where you’re welcome to leave a print, creating a big collage together with other participants.
Printmaking has long been used as a medium to spread political messages within various social movements, through patches, posters, and zines. It is a simple and quick form of expression with roots in punk and the DIY (Do It Yourself) movement.
Wearing your message in public can be a strategy to normalize political ideas and encourage action. The workshop is a continuation of our conversation about civic courage happening the same day, but of course, you’re free to create any design you want.
