Curator’s Tour of Lenke Rothman

at

Meet the exhibition’s curators for a special tour of Lenke Rothman’s “Life as Fabric.” Researcher Rebecka Katz Thor, artist Runo Lagomarsino, and art hall director Mats Stjernstedt will talk about Lenke Rothman’s life, creative work, and why her art remains relevant today. In Swedish.

Lenke Rothman was a Hungarian-born Jewish artist and author. In 1945, at the age of sixteen, she arrived alone in Malmö on a Red Cross transport after being liberated from the Nazis’ Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. The exhibition “Life as Cloth” highlights Lenke Rothman’s (1929–2008) unique, conceptual approach to her working materials and presents her extensive body of work, including paintings, drawings, installations, books, sculptures, objects, and textiles.
