Malmö Konsthall 50 years

8.2 2025–18.1.2026

Next year, Malmö Konsthall will celebrate its 50th anniversary by highlighting the art hall’s long and exciting history. The timeline “Malmö Konsthall – 50 Years” will be on display from February 8, 2025, to January 18, 2026, offering a retrospective of past exhibitions and an introduction to the building’s architecture. This presentation will be showcased in a smaller section of the exhibition hall and run parallel to other exhibitions throughout the year.

The presentation “Malmö Konsthall – 50 Years” offers a retrospective of past exhibitions and an introduction to the art hall’s architecture. Since 1975, Malmö Konsthall has brought renowned international artists to Malmö while fostering a platform for regional artists to grow and establish international recognition. Through a timeline, key moments in the art hall’s history and some of its most beloved exhibitions over the years are highlighted.

Part of the presentation is dedicated to the architecture of Klas Anshelm, who designed a timeless exhibition space with a unique ability to adapt and transform for each new exhibition. The exhibition space has been highly appreciated by both visitors and the artists who have exhibited at Malmö Konsthall over the past fifty years.

Malmö Konsthall’s birthday on March 22 will mark the official opening of the presentation, offering a programme of events during the day.

Information

Part of the presentation will be on display starting February 8, 2025, but the official opening of the exhibition will take place on March 22
