It includes works by Horst Adelmeit, Tolia Astakhishvili, Adelhyd van Bender, Bruce Conner, Emily Feather, Terence McCormack, Vi Khi Nao, Thomas Zummer and Jens Thornton. Curators for &#8220;SPEED 2&#8221; are Fatima Hellberg, director of K\u00fcnstlerhaus Stuttgart, and James Richards, in collaboration with exhibition designer Matt Fitts. The exhibition, which was first shown at K\u00fcnstlerhaus Stuttgart in 2018, has been adapted for the exhibition space at Malm\u00f6 Konsthall by the curatorial team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-body-heading\" id=\"h-kalla-kriget-som-fond\">The Cold War as a backdrop<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default\">Several of the works in the group exhibition give the appearance of having been conceived in the light of the cold war, an era of fear and self-destructiveness that can occasionally seem eerily similar to the present day. The exhibition\u2019s atmosphere is rife with manic energy, a recurring fascination with X-rays and radioactivity, mind-altering rituals, and a systematic archiving and documentation that echoes the methodology of scientific research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-body-heading\" id=\"h-tva-konstnarer-mots-i-ett-tredje-medvetande\">Two artists meet in a third consciousness<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default\">&#8220;SPEED 2&#8221; arose from a collaborative impulse with the potential to transform one\u2019s own, speculative monologue into a dialogical practice. The two newly produced works \u2013 James Richards\u2019s large-scale video mural Phrasing and Leslie Thornton\u2019s film &#8220;Cut from Liquid Snake&#8221; \u2013 originated from this \u201cthird mind\u201d that sprouted from two individuals&#8217; distinctive approaches to a mutual creative process characterised by collaboration and questioning. The curators Thornton\u2019s and Richards\u2019s work on the exhibition began in 2017, partly as a result of their joint residency at CERN (Organisation europ\u00e9enne pour la recherche nucl\u00e9aire) outside Geneva, which is the largest particle physics laboratory in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-style-information-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-malmo-konsthall-accordion block-accordion-container active\"><button class=\"block-accordion\" type=\"button\" onclick=\"handleAccordianClick(this)\" aria-controls=\"accordion_content_6394032d-17ef-4a09-8c47-682f19a7df37\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"accordion_content-container_6394032d-17ef-4a09-8c47-682f19a7df37\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"accordion__title\">Production<\/span><svg width=\"14\" height=\"14\" viewBox=\"0 0 14 14\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"accordion__icon acc_plus\"><path d=\"M14 8H8H6H0V6H6H8H14V8Z\" fill=\"black\" class=\"stroke\"><\/path><path d=\"M6 14L6 8L6 6L6 -8.74228e-08L8 0L8 6L8 8L8 14L6 14Z\" fill=\"black\" class=\"stroke-minus\"><\/path><\/svg><\/button><div class=\"accordion__content\" role=\"region\" id=\"accordion_content_6394032d-17ef-4a09-8c47-682f19a7df37\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion_content-container_6394032d-17ef-4a09-8c47-682f19a7df37\"><div class=\"accordion__text\">\n<p>The exhibition has been compiled and produced by K\u00fcnstlerhaus Stuttgart in collaboration with Malm\u00f6 Konsthall.
