Malm\u00f6 Konsthall is one of the largest institutions for contemporary art in the Nordic region, located in the heart of Malm\u00f6. Each year, the art hall welcomes more than 250,000 visitors. Admission is always free to all exhibitions and programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-utstallningar\" class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-arrow-link-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/malmokonsthall.se\/en\/exhibitions\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/malmokonsthall.se\/en\/exhibitions\/\">Exhibitions<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-oppettider\" class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-arrow-link-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/malmokonsthall.se\/en\/opening-hours\/\">Opening hours<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default wp-block-paragraph\">Since opening its doors in 1975, Malm\u00f6 Konsthall has presented contemporary art that challenges and inspires. Each year, the art hall stages three major exhibitions that reflect different aspects of the world we live in today. Malm\u00f6 Konsthall serves as a platform for artists&#8217; visions and fosters dialogue between artists and audiences. Alongside its exhibitions, the art hall offers an extensive public programme, both on site and in schools, as well as at venues across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default wp-block-paragraph\">Art can be seen as part of a broader conversation. This is a perspective that has long informed Malm\u00f6 Konsthall\u2019s educational work in connection with its exhibitions, as well as its events where visual art engages with other cultural forms. The 2,000-square-metre exhibition space is transformed for each new exhibition, becoming a unique extension of the artworks on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default wp-block-paragraph\">Malm\u00f6 Konsthall operates in both an international and a local context. The art hall presents the work of both international and local artists while seeking to root its exhibitions in the city and engage with its communities. Unlike a museum, the Konsthall has no permanent collection. It retains the flexibility to exist as a free space and adapts and responds to each new exhibition and contemporary trends. We want to base our work on the city and its residents and to connect with local organisations that share our goal of making art and culture accessible to all. Malm\u00f6 Konsthall strives to be an art space for everyone in Malm\u00f6, a place where everyone can feel welcome, included and inspired. We want to ensure that the threshold to visit us is kept as low as possible. It is essentially a white box and the flexibility of the exhibition space has become a highly appreciated feature among the artists who have shown here: almost any spatial idea can be realised within the 2,000 square metres of the Konsthall. As a way of promoting a general interest in contemporary art and to encourage creativity, we organise workshops, both as part of the regular programming and through outreach activities and school visits. Malm\u00f6 Konsthall also offers educational activities directed at art practitioners with disabilities.
