Therefore, a selection of Leif Holmstrand\u2019s private collection, supplemented by work on loan, are shown in a separate section of the gallery. Doll-like objects, sculptures, drawings, prints&#13;\nand photographic collages have together with his text production frightened and captivated&#13;\nfor hundreds of years. They stand for a kind of playful, occasionally offensive, politicallyexplosive neo-Dadaism. Their works are generally action-based but result in objects, videos and installations. The exhibition screens the second version of Chim\u2191Pom\u2019s video work&#13;\n&#8220;Black of Death&#8221; from 2013, where thousands of crows are lured from the radioactive no-go&#13;\nzone around the failed Fukushima nuclear power plant all the way down to central Tokyo.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-malmo-konsthall-accordion block-accordion-container active\"><button class=\"block-accordion\" type=\"button\" onclick=\"handleAccordianClick(this)\" aria-controls=\"accordion_content_01c53812-a60e-4bc6-8e9f-d476792e026b-1707402124756\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"accordion_content-container_01c53812-a60e-4bc6-8e9f-d476792e026b-1707402124756\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"accordion__title\">Nan Emb\u00e4ck (born 1995), Sweden<\/span><svg width=\"14\" height=\"14\" viewBox=\"0 0 14 14\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"accordion__icon acc_plus\"><path d=\"M14 8H8H6H0V6H6H8H14V8Z\" fill=\"black\" class=\"stroke\"><\/path><path d=\"M6 14L6 8L6 6L6 -8.74228e-08L8 0L8 6L8 8L8 14L6 14Z\" fill=\"black\" class=\"stroke-minus\"><\/path><\/svg><\/button><div class=\"accordion__content\" role=\"region\" id=\"accordion_content_01c53812-a60e-4bc6-8e9f-d476792e026b-1707402124756\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion_content-container_01c53812-a60e-4bc6-8e9f-d476792e026b-1707402124756\"><div class=\"accordion__text\">\n<p>Nan Emb\u00e4ck (1995) is a Malm\u00f6-based painter and sculptor who works within a bodilyseeking&#13;\nidiom beyond rationality. He was born in Damascus and works in&#13;\nBeirut, Ramallah and Paris. Sculpture, stop-motion animated video, drawing, and painting quickly follow one another and often coexist in total installations. She is a celebrated printmaker capable of&#13;\nworking in astonishingly large formats, but even her smaller works have had success due to&#13;\ntheir inherent social critique and portrayal of detailed, absurd Kafkaesque worlds. She combines everyday&#13;\nmaterial into absurd and assertive statements, poetic and concrete. In 2015 they performed the work Fake Bones together with Leif Holmstrand at&#13;\nLilith Performance Studio in Malm\u00f6. A plaster bone that was created by OLTA during the ten&#13;\ndays performance ritual is exhibited here. The works revolved around her ongoing transition&#13;\nand sought to ceremoniously introduce a temporary non-gendered existence alongside&#13;\nstable possibilities for healing, realisation and love. His work is&#13;\noften dedicated to LGBTQ identities and related freedom struggles. Sharifi works primarily&#13;\nas a graphic artist but often allows his artworks to span into other fields. She has exhibited her work in prestigious venues such as the Mori Art Museum&#13;\nin Tokyo, MoMA in New York and the Beijing Photo Biennial. She is best known for the&#13;\nlarge-scale photographic installation work &#8220;Human Spring&#8221;, which very personally invokes&#13;\nthe great earthquake and tsunami of 2011. The&#13;\nrecurring theme in his work is nature as a cultural product, corroded by memory and&#13;\ntime. Strid runs a sculpture park at Persbo Studio and a residency programme. He has&#13;\nstudied under Mary Kelly, worked as an assistant to Mark Dion, and taught at Konstfack in&#13;\nStockholm. For some time now, he has devoted himself to small,&#13;\npeculiar paintings with diffuse fairytale-like themes and dark undertones.
