SUMMARY:Kollaborativet: Performance
DESCRIPTION:Start\nEvents\n\n \n \n\n\n\n”Röra!” by Kollaborativet with students from Valdemarsro specialized high school. Photo: Johan Danielsson\n\n\n\n\nKollaborativet: Performance\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCreating movement\, touch\, and presence. Inside and around us. Feeling\, pressing\, embracing\, observing\, and listening. In connection with the exhibition “RÖRA!”\, Kollaborativet invites to the exhibition space for a performance\, a collective and exciting event between visitors\, materials and objects\, image projections\, and soundscapes. \n\n\n\nCreating together\n\n\n\nDuring the autumn of 2023\, Kollaborativet conducted a co-creative artistic process together with students and educators at Valdemarsro specialized high school in Malmö. The process lasted for 12 weeks on-site at the school. The senses and our experience of movement were explored together with the students through encounters with various materials and objects\, changes in light\, and soundscapes in the room. The process laid the foundation for the performing arts experience “Mellan oss emellan” which premiered in March at Inkonst in Malmö. In the exhibition “RÖRA!”\, there is documentation in the form of photos\, films\, and sounds from the process with the students at the school as well as from the performance period of “Mellan oss emellan” at Inkonst. \n\n\n\n“Röra!” is directed both to families with children with disabilities as well as to other people in society who have little or no knowledge or contact with the broad group of children and young people with various disabilities. The hope with the exhibition is also that art institutions will be inspired to open up their activities to more people and that knowledge\, courage\, and openness to diversity will increase. \n\n\n\nRead more about “Röra!” \n\n\n\nKollaborativet is a performing arts collective operating at the intersection of movement\, performance\, and visual/installation art. A defining characteristic of Kollaborativet is that the group creates sensory performing arts\, continuously engages in co-creative processes with children and young people with disabilities and their educators\, and maintains an ongoing dialogue with researchers. \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInformation\n\n\n\nWhat: Performance \n\n\n\nWhen: Wednesday June 5th\, from 17-17:50 Where: C-room \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFree admission

In “RÖRA!”\, you are invited to feel\, embrace\, look\, listen\, and experience. \n\n\n\nSpace for diversity\n\n\n\nWith this exhibition\, Kollaborativet aims to highlight children and young people with disabilities in their creative processes and allow them to occupy space in Konsthallen as a public sphere. SUMMARY:Peace Poetry Evening for Gaza

The anthology brings together around sixty poets from all over the world\, united in expressing their thoughts on peace\, hope\, and humanity in the light of Gaza. Aska publishing invites you to an evening with some of the book’s authors and the Moria Dance and Theater Group. The programme will be in Swedish. \n\n\n\nIn late 2023\, Aska Publishing decided to gather a large number of poets in an anthology in solidarity with and in support of the people of Palestine. The anthology is an act of solidarity\, showing how poetry can unite in the common struggle for peace and justice. The book will be sold for 250 kronor during the evening\, and one hundred percent of the sales proceeds will go\, via the Palestine Groups\, towards healthcare in Palestine. \n\n\n\nThe program has been prepared by representatives of the anthology and Aska Publishing. Introduction by Mats Stjernstedt\, Director at Malmö Konsthall. \n\n\n\nLenke Rothman (1929–2008) was a Hungarian-born Jewish artist and author. In 1945\, at the age of sixteen\, she arrived alone in Malmö on a Red Cross transport after being liberated from the Nazis’ Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Of ten family members\, only two survived the Holocaust\, Lenke and her eldest brother Alexander. Upon her arrival\, Rothman was severely weakened and suffering from tuberculosis\, spending her first six years in Sweden in convalescent homes\, sanatoriums\, and hospitals. During these years of illness\, drawing and creating images became a way for her to pass the time and cope with her difficult life situation. Lenke Rothman chose to remain in Sweden\, and in 1951\, she began studying painting at Konstfack in Stockholm. \n\n\n\nIn the film “Konstnärinnan Lenke Rothman” she talks about how her experiences shaped her outlook on life\, about preferring to live with pain rather than not live at all\, and about the everyday observations and materials that\, through her attentive gaze\, find their way into her art. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInformation\n\n\n\nWhat: Filmscreening (in Swedish with Swedish subtitles)When: Wednesday 2.10 at 18–19Where: Room C \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDrop in\, free entrance

SUMMARY:Fragile Decisions: A performance workshop on contemporary strategies of censroship and solidarity
DESCRIPTION:Start\nEvents\n\n \n \n\nPhoto: Samaneh Roghani\n\n\nFragile Decisions: A performance workshop on contemporary strategies of censroship and solidarity\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring Forbidden Culture Week\, Unicorn – Artists in solidarity propose a\nperformance workshop open to everyone who is interested in strategies of social and\npolitical performance. The performance workshop will be held in English and consist of dialogic and material interventions in connection to the works of Lenke Rothman\, featured in the konsthall’s autumn exhibition. The workshop examines what a cultural\ninstitution’s limits and possibilities to understand\, listen and relate to an artist’s\npolitical engagement (or disengagement) are. Furthermore\, it examines how censorship and institutional solidarity function in the contemporary art world. \n\n\n\nUnicorn invites cultural workers and institutional representatives from\nSkåne and the general public to take part in a performative\, partially scripted\ndialogue: between institutions and artists\, between materials and words\, between the\npast and the future. \n\n\n\nUnicorn – Artists in Solidarity is a network of cultural workers\, artists and\nresearchers based in Sweden. Its current active members are Hanna Una\nHolmquist\, Ramona Dima\, Samaneh Roghani\, Simona Dumitriu\, Susanne Ovelius\nand Taylor Filrup Eliasen. \n\n\n\nThe event is part of Forbidden Culture Week\, organized by the Cultural Administration of Malmö City. Forbidden Culture Week highlights artistic freedom and censorship through culture that\, at some point\, somewhere\, and for some reason\, has been censored\, banned\, or exiled. \n\n\n\nRead more about UnicornProgram for Forbidden Culture Week 2024 \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInformation\n\n\n\nWhat: Workshop (in English)When: Wednesday 16.10 at 17–19Where: The exhibition hall \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nParticipation is free of charge \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLenke Rothman.
