SUMMARY:Art Workshop for Children and Youth with Disabilities
DESCRIPTION:Start\nEvents\n\n \n \n\n\n\n\nArt Workshop for Children and Youth with Disabilities\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEducators from Malmö Konsthall and the Culture School invite children and young people with special needs to a creative workshop. Bring your family\, a companion\, or a friend. \n\n\n\nThe workshop is free\, but registration is required. When you sign up\, please choose whether you want to attend from 1:00–2:30 PM or 2:30–4:00 PM. Register for the workshop here. \n\n\n\nWe gather to create together. Using spirographs\, colors\, and patterns\, we make our own artworks inspired by simple shapes and repetitions. Everyone participates in their own way and at their own pace. For those who wish\, we’ll start with a short introduction to the artist CC Hennix’s exhibition\, but it’s just as fine to start creating right away. \n\n\n\nThe workshop is inspired by the current exhibition of Catherine Christer Hennix. Hennix worked with both visual art and sound\, and is considered a pioneer of what is known as minimalism. Her art often explores repetition\, small changes\, and concentration. Her works also reflect mathematics\, spirituality\, and questions of identity. She is especially known for her slow\, meditative drone music\, but she also created installations\, sculptures\, and paintings. \n\n\n\nThe workshop is a collaboration between Malmö Culture School and Malmö Konsthall\, and is part of a Saturday program for children and young people with disabilities. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInformation\n\n\n\nWhat: WorkshopWhen: Sunday\, April 26\, 1:00–2:30 PM and 2:30–4:00 PMWhere: Verkstan \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFree entry\, registration required. Register for the workshop here.

Their two roles involve crafting performative work\, web-based work and more. Seid Tahir is interested in runology and the idea of an Afro-Nordic folklore. Their work tries to retell the history and mythology of the Nordic land on which they grew up and still live on through a queer Afro-diasporic and post-anthropocentric lens. \n\n\n\nAll of Seid Tahir’s works deal with the personal and mythological as political. Through\nthis they construct emotional and sensory fictive worlds where they critique certain\nsocietal constructions. In other words\, they use fiction to create resistance\, question\nand distort different subjects and realities. \n\n\n\nSeid Tahir has presented their work in contexts including: Kunstenfestivaldesarts (BE)\,\nMDT (SE)\, Kampnagel Summer Festival (DE)\, Tanzquartier (AT)\, Dansehallerne (DK)\,\nEmergentia (CH)\, Bâtard (BE)\, My Wild Flag (SE)\, Dubrovnik Summer Festival (HR)\,\nDance Umbrella (UK) and more. They continuously work with other artists including:\nLydia Östberg Diakité and Amina Seid Tahir. \n\n\n\n\n\nLuka Aron\nLuka Aron is a composer and performer working between Stockholm and Berlin. His music centres on the convergence of synthesis and acoustic instrumentation\, folding the force of power electronics into fragile timbral architectures shaped by breath\, pressure\, and touch. His compositions activate psychoacoustic and spatial phenomena\, probing the thresholds of perception and the edges of subjectivity. Algorithmic structures and idiosyncratic tunings create slow-moving sound fields thatthicken and distort over time—described by The Guardian as “thick\, impasto layers of slow-moving sound that completely command your attention”. \n\n\n\nAron studied at the Musik-Akademie Basel and earned a Master’s degree in electroacoustic composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Recent collaborators include Skúli Sverrisson\, Ludwig Wandinger\, Rian Treanor\, Elvin Brandhi\, and Peter Evans. He is a member of Minua and the group Roomer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdam Seid Tahir. SUMMARY:Short Story Club + Art CC Hennix
DESCRIPTION:Start\nEvents\n\n \n \n\nShort Story Club – Autumn 2025\n\n\nShort Story Club + Art CC Hennix\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo you enjoy talking about what you’ve read and seen? Then you are welcome to the Short Story Club + Art – a collaboration between Lindängen Library and Malmö Konsthall. \n\n\n\nWe all read a short story or another brief text with a thematic connection to the CC Hennix exhibition. We then discuss it in groups according to a special model. \n\n\n\nCatherine Christer Hennix is primarily known as a musician and composer of drone music\, but her artistic practice extends far beyond music.
Through her work\, she has helped shape several of the artistic and intellectual movements of the 20th century. SUMMARY:Catherine Christer Hennix’s Kamigaku Ensemble
DESCRIPTION:Start\nEvents\n\n \n \n\nPhoto: Andrea Avezzù. Courtesy of La Biennale di Venezia.\n\n\nCatherine Christer Hennix’s Kamigaku Ensemble \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMalmö Konsthall is pleased to present a long-duration\, large-scale performance by Kamigaku Ensemble\, Catherine Christer Hennix’s final ensemble and musical work. The concert is part of the exhibition program for “CC Hennix”\, on view until 17 May. Free admission\, with a limited number of seats available. \n\n\n\nIn a three-hour concert the ensemble presents the further life of Kamigaku\, a music characterized by precision-tuned and continuously sustained tones on trumpet and shō—the Japanese free-reed mouth organ—tones which fuse with electronic sound through combination tone harmony\, a fascinating phenomenon in which tones holographically give rise to new\, lower tones – similar to how the waves of the sea can combine to form larger and more powerful movements. \n\n\n\nIn Hennix’s characteristic style of combination tone harmony\, tones fuse into a massive sound field with a seemingly autonomous force\, a sonic reality in which the members of the ensemble navigate the subtle movements of tone through precise tuning\, at once guided by and guiding the emergent process of harmonic structuring. \n\n\n\nThe audience is here invited to take part of this sound\, comfortably seated\, wave by wave brought closer and closer to the center of Sound\, where habitual distinctions in perception and thought start to dissolve. \n\n\n\nLimited seating. Entry may be closed if the venue reaches capacity. \n\n\n\nRead more about CC Hennix exhibition here. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInformation\n\n\n\nWhat: ConcertWhen: Tuesday\, 10 March\, 6:00–9:00 pm \n\n\n\nThe art hall and restaurant Smak close at 9:00 pm.Where: Exhibition Hall \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThings to keep in mind for your visitHigh sound levels – please feel free to bring hearing protection. You are welcome to come and go during the concert. \n\n\n\nMattias Hållsten – shō \nMattias Hållsten (b. 1997\, Stockholm) is a Swedish composer and shō player. SUMMARY:Guided tour by Marcus Pal
DESCRIPTION:Start\nEvents\n\n \n \n\nCatherine Christer Hennix. Photo: Fergus Padel. \n\n\nGuided tour by Marcus Pa\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet to know CC Hennix’s unique and interdisciplinary practice through one of her closest collaborators. On Saturday\, March 7\, Marcus Pal will show the current exhibition at Malmö Konsthall. The guided tour will be held in Swedish and replaces Saturday’s public showing. \n\n\n\nMarcus Pal is a sound-artist\, composer and theorist who worked closely with Hennix for over ten years. Pal has been an artistic advisor in connection with the exhibition and also participates in the accompanying music program—as part of Catherine Christer Hennix’s Kamigaku Ensemble on Tuesday\, March 10\, and later in a performance with Hilary Jeffery based on their collaboration with Hennix in the ensemble Chora(s)san Time-Court Mirage. \n\n\n\nBeginning in the late 1960s\, CC Hennix (1948–2023) developed a practice that placed sound at its center. Best known for her long-duration compositions\, she integrated music\, mathematics\, philosophy\, language\, and visual forms in work that exceeds the bounds of any single medium\, unfolding instead as an integrated inquiry into structure\, perception\, and knowledge itself. \n\n\n\nRead more about the exhibition here. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInformation\n\n\n\nWhat: Guided tourWhen: Saturday\, March 7 at 2:00 PMWhere: The Exhibition Hall \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAdmission free\, drop in
